
In collaboration with the American University of Beirut and thanks to the experience of Dr. Hana Addam El Ghali, the Lebanese R-SOS RESCUE team receive an intense 2 days training at AUB premises from 26 to 27 October 2018.
The training was intended to provide to UL and USEK staff the necessary skills in relationship with the A26 Backpack and on strategic planning for integration of Refugee Students, namely welcoming refugees and threatened academics on campus and internship opportunities. In two days they received 6 training modules organized as follows:
Training Module 1: Role of Ministries and Regional Legislation
Training Module 2: The A26 Backpack- A Human Rights Tool (Managing Student Credentials, College Counselling, Career Guidance, and Peer to Peer Mentoring)
Training Module 3: Strategic Planning for Integration of Refugee Students (Welcoming Refugees and Threatened Academics on Campus, Offering internship opportunities, etc)
Training Module 4: Communications Strategy: Internal and External
Training Module 5: Developing an Effective Referral System
Training Module 6: Understanding Academic Freedom and Related Higher Education Values
The same training will be provided to Jordanian and Iraqi R-SOS RESCUE team in the following months.
