A training course for the R-SOS units was held at the University of Al Zaytoonah University in Jordan under the supervision of the Union of Mediterranean Universities (UNIMED) with the participation of trainees from Yarmouk University, Zarqa University and Zaytouna University.

The importance of this training course for university staff is to help contribute to the provision of services to refugee students by building capacity of their knowledge, life skills and language abilities. It is worth mentioning that this course is the seventh in a series of local training courses that started since last February. The courses were designed to train the team involved in the EU funded RESCUE project.

The course, which was delivered by Dr. Hana Al-Ghali , from the American University in Beirut, dealt with the following topics: the role of ministries and regional legislations; the Article 26 Backpack™ ” human rights tool, which includes the Managing of Student Credentials, College Counselling, Career Guidance, Peer to Peer Mentoring, strategic planning for the integration of refugee students, understanding academic freedom and other  related higher education values.
