In the framework of the RESCUE project (Refugees Education Support in Mena Countries), a 3 days Training on “Trauma and resilience, crisis intervention” for the R-SOS staff was contacted at the Lebanese University- Central Administration with partners Universities the Holy Spirit of Kaslik – Lebanon, Duhok Polytechnic University – Iraq and University of Duhok – Iraq.

Professors Giampaolo Nicolais and Alessandra Talamo from Sapienza University of Roma – Italy delivered the 3-days training.

The first aspect of the training was to provide the R-SOS Unit staff members with competencies in identifying most recurrent signs, symptoms and correlates linked to psychological trauma.

As learning outcomes, the participants will develop a basic knowledge of trauma dynamics.

And the second aspect was to teach the staff the bases of Crises definition with specific focus on the social psychological aspect related to collective traumas.

Additionally, the training provided the staff with hints on how to create communities which could support traumatized students in their university life.
